International Requirements
Currently there are students representing over 100 countries around the globe. If you wish to attend HPU, there are many ways in which international applicants can experience academic life at HPU. You can apply to a Master's Program or Certificate Program, Study Abroad Program, or Exchange Student Program.
International applicants who are applying to on of HPU's master's degree are eligible to apply for the Trustee, Dean, and Kokua scholarships. Click here to learn more.
Master's Programs and Certificate Programs:
International applicants, who wish to apply for a master's program or graduate certificate must submit the following documents listed below in addition to the general admissions requirements.

Transcripts:
English translations must accompany all official university/college transcripts. Include transcripts from all universities attended as well as certified copies of "A" Level (or similar post secondary) examinations and/or certificate programs.
English Language Requirements:
All non-native speakers of English may satisfy the English competency requirement by completing one (1) of the following:
- Graduate from a college or university from the United States, or from a college from this list of countries;
- Earn a minimum TOEFL or IETLS score as stated in the table below or;*
- Enroll in an ESL program and complete Level 112**

*TOEFL and IELTS scores may not be more than 2 years old.
**Applicants to the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages may not satisfy their English competency requirement through an ESL program. In addition to the minimum overall scores list above, applicants must meet the minimum written scores: paper based TOEFL: TWE 5; compter-based TOEFL: ER 5; internet-based (iBT) TOEFL: writing score of 25; IELTS: writing module of 6.5; CPE grade C; or CAE grade A.
Statement of Financial Support:
All applicants must submit the following two documents:

An original or certified bank statement or letter showing that you, your sponsor, or guardian(s) have an account which provides sufficient funds to cover one year of study at HPU. See Cost of Living chart below for expected dollar amounts.

If you have a sponsor, you must submit a completed and signed HPU Statement of Financial Sponsorship Form, please refer to the Cost of Living chart below. The amounts on the form are for 2010-2011, but the form may still be used.

Passport Information:
Please submit a copy of the page within your passport that includes your personal information and your picture.Those who wish to study at HPU at the graduate level for one semester, may apply to our Study Abroad Program (PDF).
