Description: These selective and limited tuition waiver scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen who are high school graduates in Hawai'i.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Information provided on the Admission application along with the high school transcript will determine the criteria and eligibility of the scholarship.
Scholarship Period: Renewable for up to three (3) years.

- Sukamto Foundation Scholarship
Description: Awarded to incoming freshman, transfer students, or currently enrolled HPU students who have graduated from a high school in Hawai'i.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, enroll as a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters, demonstrate financial need, and be involved in extra-curricular charitable community service and/or student activities. Applicants must also intend to pursue an undergraduate degree with the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and have a major in Asian Studies, International Relations, or International Studies with a focus on Asia.
Scholarship Period: Renewable for up to three (3) years.
Scholarship Amount: Up to $2,500 per academic year

- The Reverend Frank E. and Irene Butterworth Scholarship
Description: This tuition waiver scholarship is awarded to entering high school graduates or entering transfer students who are current members of any organized religion or faith in Hawai‘i or in the Pacific Islands.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Be accepted as an entering freshman to HPU with 3.50 high school GPA or transfer student (24 college credits) with 3.00 GPA. Applicants must be pursuing an undergraduate degree, demonstrate extracurricular involvement in his/her religious community, and be nominated by the leadership representing his/her religious organization or congregation.
Scholarship Period: Renewable for up to three (3) years

- Harry S. Komuro Scholarship
Description: This tuition waiver scholarship is available to students who are dependent children of an ordained minister in one of the following church denominations: Episcopal Church, Presbyterian Church, United Methodist Church, or United Church of Christ.

Scholarship Amount: Up to $3,000 per academic year

- Debate Scholarship
Description: This tuition waiver scholarship is awarded to entering high school graduates or entering transfer students who are interested in participating with the HPU debate program. The program also offers tuition waiver scholarships to Graduate Assistants as debate coaches.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 supported by a current official transcript and intent to pursue one of the degrees offered by the HPU College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

- Lloyd M. Fujie Scholarship
Description: Awarded to incoming freshman who have graduated from a public high school in Hawai'i.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must have a minimum high school GPA of 3.00 and a minimum combined SAT score (critical reading, math, and writing) of 1500. Applicants must also intend to pursue a major in Accounting and demonstrate leadership through extracurricular activities, community involvement, or work experience.
Scholarship Period: Renewable for up to three (3) years.

- Allen and Nobuko Zecha Scholarship
Description: Awarded to incoming freshman; high school graduates.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: A high school cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 and scoring in the top 10% on the SAT, ACT, or international equivalent tests; or being in the top 3% of graduating class. Majoring in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Pre-Medical Studies, and 3-2 Engineering.

Description: Awarded to incoming freshman; graduates of high schools in Hawai'i.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements: A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 and an 1100/24 SAT/ACT score.
