Transfer Students Scholarships

Description: Transfer student applicants are considered for academic merit scholarships at the time of admission based on academic abilities. Academic merit scholarships are applied towards tuition. To determine your academic merit scholarship eligibility, please complete an application for undergraduate admission.

To qualify for need-based grants and/or loans, you may submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.

For information on specific opportunities for transfer students, please see below.

HPU reserves the right to cancel, reduce, or substitute an institutional scholarship. HPU scholarships that pay institutional costs, such as tuition, will be reduced in the case where a student receives other direct tuition benefits from an outside source, such as, but not limited to, VA tuition benefits or employer tuition payments made directly to the institution. Tuition scholarships from all sources cannot exceed the cost of actual tuition, and must meet the terms of the specific scholarship.

If you have any questions or need further information, please feel free to contact the Scholarships Office by emailing scholarships@hpu.edu or by calling (808) 566-2430 or 1-866-CALL-HPU (Toll-free: U.S. and Canada Only).

Academic Merit Scholarships

University Transfer Academic Scholarship Program:

HPU is proud to offer merit scholarships to recognize our new transfer students, to recognize their academic achievements, to provide financial assistance for tuition, and to demonstrate our confidence that the student will contribute to the campus community.

HPU provides transfer scholarships that range from up to $9,000 to $21,000 (annually $3000 to $7000 awards, renewable for up to 2 additional years).   Awards are offered to new transfers seeking their first bachelor’s degree and enrolled full time.  Renewal of the scholarship is based on satisfactory academic performance annually.

Award notification varies with the type of scholarship. Many scholarships are awarded in rounds, so award notification occurs over a span of time. Hawaiʻi Pacific University makes Transfer Merit Scholarship awards primarily from December through March.

The Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Admissions can assist with questions you may have about the merit scholarship program.
