Pacific Islands Institute and Diana W. Lockwood Memorial Scholarship
Description and Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is given in memory of University alumna Diana Lockwood who was the founder of the Pacific Islands Institute. It is awarded to undergraduate or graduate students from the Pacific regions: Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Kiribati, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Rapa Nui, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, and Vanuatu. The recipients are expected to return to their home country upon completion of their studies and apply what they have learned within their communities. Preference is given to those who demonstrate financial need.
Scholarship Value: Up to $2,000 awarded to each recipient

HPU reserves the right to cancel, reduce, or substitute an institutional scholarship. HPU scholarships that pay institutional costs, such as tuition, will be reduced in the case where a student receives other direct tuition benefits from an outside source, such as, but not limited to, VA tuition benefits or employer tuition payments made directly to the institution. Tuition scholarships from all sources cannot exceed the cost of actual tuition, and must meet the terms of the specific scholarship.
