Mader Scholarship

Description and Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is given by Emma Jean and Charles L. Mader, Ph.D.  Dr. Mader was a visiting professor when the university was known as Hawai’i Loa College.  He valued the teaching structure of small class sizes that allowed professors to mentor many of their students.  The scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students studying in the marine science program.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and have a minimum 3.00 GPA.

HPU reserves the right to cancel, reduce, or substitute an institutional scholarship. HPU scholarships that pay institutional costs, such as tuition, will be reduced in the case where a student receives other direct tuition benefits from an outside source, such as, but not limited to, VA tuition benefits or employer tuition payments made directly to the institution. Tuition scholarships from all sources cannot exceed the cost of actual tuition, and must meet the terms of the specific scholarship.
