Kamakia Scholarship

Description and Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is given in memory of Tessa Gay Kamakia Dye, who was the wife of the late Robert P. Dye, who served as an HPU Trustee from 1979 to 1991. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a Hawai'i resident, over 30 years of age, enrolled in not less than 6 credit hours in any undergraduate program, have completed at least 15 credits at HPU with a 3.00 cumulative GPA, and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is funded annually at the discretion of the donor.

HPU reserves the right to cancel, reduce, or substitute an institutional scholarship. HPU scholarships that pay institutional costs, such as tuition, will be reduced in the case where a student receives other direct tuition benefits from an outside source, such as, but not limited to, VA tuition benefits or employer tuition payments made directly to the institution. Tuition scholarships from all sources cannot exceed the cost of actual tuition, and must meet the terms of the specific scholarship.
