Hawai'i Association of Broadcasters Scholarship

Description and Eligibility Requirements: This scholarship is awarded to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in any communication degree program. The student must have a career goal of working in the broadcast industry in the State of Hawai'i upon graduation. Applicants must complete one semester at HPU and have a minimum 3.25 GPA. Applicants are required to submit a written essay between 300 and 500 words on one of the following topics:

1.  The persuasive power of the broadcast media;

2.  The future of the broadcast communication industry;

3.  The First Amendment: Is there free speech in the broadcast industry?

This scholarship is funded annually at the discretion of the donor.        

Scholarship Value: Up to $3,500 awarded to each recipient
