Special Status Applicants

Individuals wishing to take an undergraduate class for professional or personal growth, or students not planning on receiving a degree from Hawai'i Pacific University but wish to take a course for credit may apply as a special status student.

Undergraduate

Undergraduate special status students may take up to 15 credits at HPU. After 15 credits a student must either apply as a degree seeking student or file a general petition to remain a special status student. Special status students are not eligible for financial aid of any type. To register, download and fill out the Special Status Application and bring it to the Office of Admissions.

Graduate

Graduate special status students may take up to 12 credits at HPU. After 12 credits a student must apply as a degree seeking student. Special status students are not eligible for financial aid of any type. To register, download and fill out the Special Status Application and submit, with proof of a bachelors degree to the Office of Admission. To provide proof of a bachelors degree, students must submit a copy of their transcripts with their degree conferral.
