Aloha... and welcome to the Adult Services Center at Hawai'i Pacific University.
Hawai'i Pacific University is focused on offering services to adult undergraduate students. While there is not a precise definition, we generally think of adults as having lifetime and work experience who are ready to return to education. Our academic policies, scheduling, and curriculum all support the return of adults to higher education after being away from the classroom for some time.
The Adult Services staff provides personal attention to the program planning and concerns of returning adults. Over the years, Hawai'i Pacific University has developed a number of services to meet the needs of adult students.

Scheduling:
A great number of classes are held at times convenient to adult students including early morning, lunchtime, evening, weekend and online. HPU students can attend classes year round, accelerating the degree completion process. To view majors offered at HPU, use the navigation link to the right of this page.
Testing and Assessment:
Adult students are encouraged to use the Center for Academic Success. Here, an assessment of your current level of competence assists in the selection of appropriate-level courses.
The University also offers College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests to current HPU adult students who wish to earn credit by passing examinations that demonstrate their proficiency in core subject areas.
Credit for Current Work Experience:
While HPU does not have a mechanism to measure past work experience for academic credit, adults who are working in a field related to their program of study may be eligible to earn degree credit.
Veteran's Administration Coordinator:
HPU's Veteran's Administration Coordinator is available to answer questions concerning military service and related benefits. If you are an eligible veteran or family member interested in seeking an undergraduate degree, find out how the new Post 9/11 GI Bill’s Yellow Ribbon Program can help pay for your education.
The Career Services Center (CSC):
The CSC will help you enroll in internship courses for college credit. Career counseling, job preparation, job search assistance and employment listing are just some of the services offered. For individuals seeking work experience in their field of study, job referrals are also available.
