Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Applying Online

Q:

Will my application really reach Hawai'i Pacific University when I click on the submit button?

A:

Yes. More than one-third of all applications received by the University come to it via its Web site. Your application will be received as long as you have completed all of the required fields of the online application form and have entered a valid credit card number for your $50.00 application fee. A confirmation form will indicate the date and time your application was received. You will be sent a letter or e-mail from the Admissions Office, the Graduate Admissions Office, or the International Admissions Office confirming the receipt of your application and indicating any outstanding documents you will need to provide us within two to three days after we receive it.

Q:

Will my personal information and credit card information be secure?

A:

Yes. When you go to the online application a separate window will appear. At the bottom of the box you will see a "lock" icon in the locked position indicating it is a secure form.

Q:

Is an online application considered differently from a paper application?

A:

All applications (online or paper) are treated equally. The same information is requested on both types of applications.

Q:

How long will it take me to fill out an online application?

A:

Most students will be able to complete an online application in five minutes. We recommend that you prepare your personal statement ahead of time so that you can cut and paste it into the space provided on the online application as you are filling it out. You can also either e-mail your personal statement to us as a separate document or mail us a hard copy of it. Don't forget to request your high school and/or college transcripts be sent to Hawai'i Pacific University. If your SAT or ACT test results are not on your high school transcripts please request that they be sent to us. Check out the appropriate admissions requirement section for more detailed information.
