About Griffith University:
Established in 1975 Griffith University today has five campuses that span over three cities in beautiful Queensland, Australia. Each campus provides its own specialty of study and support services for its students. For example, Nathan campus one of Griffith’s larger campuses offers a college community complete with dorms, sports fields, and bookstore. Then Logan campus is a smaller campus great for those focused on Education and Community Health. Griffith University is one of the largest universities in Australia; forty thousand student currently enrolled ten thousand of those students are international. The university has a very strong research program in Environment Science and offers a variety of other courses. Academics Available: At the Gold Coast campus is Griffith College of Health, for students pursing a degree in Medicine and Oral Hygiene. Logan campus has a strong focus on Education and Community Health. Mt. Gravatt is well known for the Social and Behavior Science research. Nathan is one of Griffith’s larger campuses offering a variety of courses with a strong emphasis in Asian studies, Corporate Sustainability and other general education courses. Admission Requirements:
- Must have attended HPU for one semester
- Must intend to graduate from HPU
- Must have at least a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be fluent in English
Application Procedure:
- Complete the Student Exchange Program data sheet.
- Schedule and attend a formal interview with Melissa Matsubara
- Be prepared to discuss your motives for studying abroad and your degree plan.
- Select an exchange partner university that has courses which can be used for your intended HPU degree.
- Fill out the exchange university’s admissions application. (Griffith Online Application)
- Obtain recommendation letters to be turned in with your application. (This depends on the individual university’s application requirements)
- Passport photos (Amount and size depend upon each university)
Health Insurance: Health Insurance is mandatory for all exchange students. HPU recommends health insurance from International Student Organization (ISO) for students study abroad. There is more information on medical coverage and rates of ISO health insurance at www.isoabroad.com
Housing Accommodations: Griffith University offers a variety of accommodations to students. Depending on the campus you are studying at students have the option of on campus housing, homestay, and off campus housing. Students are encouraged to make their housing arrangement as soon as possible to secure their placement.
