About the University of Hertfordshire:  
University of Hertfordshire is 20 minutes north of London on the tube (subway).  The university has two campuses, Hatifield and St. Albans of Law. Hertfordshire has a large campus that has a student body of over twenty two thousand students. In addition to a large student body the University of Hertfordshire is well respected in the Untied Kingdom for its academics. Hertfordshire offers graduate courses and are well known for its business department. University Hertfordshire business school offers graduate courses twenty different degrees, and internship opportunities in the metropolis of London. Hertfordshire’s facilities help enhance students academics and introduce them to British culture. The Sport Village on campus offers rugby field and coaching on top of the full equip gym complete with swimming pool. Students can utilize special learning facilities such as a mock courtroom, a flight stimulator, rooms for music and film studies, and much more. Admission Requirements:

  • Must have attended HPU for one semester
  • Must intend to graduate from HPU
  • Must have at least a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must be fluent in English

Application Procedure:

  • Complete the Inquiry Form.
  • Schedule and attend a formal interview with Ms. Melissa Matsubara
  • Be prepared to discuss your motives for studying abroad and your degree plan.
    • Select an exchange partner university that has courses which can be used for your intended HPU degree.
    • Fill out the exchange university’s admissions application.
    • Obtain recommendation letters to be turned in with your application. (This depends on the individual university’s application requirements)
    • Passport photos (Amount and size depend upon each university)

    Sign a Memo of Understanding (MOU) to verify your foreign coursework and HPU equivalents.

    Health Insurance:  Health Insurance is mandatory for all study abroad students.  HPU recommends health insurance from International Student Organization (ISO) for students studying abroad. There is more information on medical coverage and rates of ISO health insurance at  www.isoabroad.com

    Housing Accommodations:  Students can find their accommodation at Hertfordshire.  The university has two campus dorms, Havilland and Lane. Havilland has single room flats that are furnished. Lane campus has flats that are single rooms with a shared bathroom and kitchen for each hall. Students need to make housing arrangements with Hertfordshire should they decide to live in either dorm. Students can find information about Hertfordshire housing options, applications, and rent on the university’s  website.
