At HPU you are encouraged to experience and get involved with your peers and the University.

We know you are here to earn a degree and we want to help you develop your full potential.  We support you in being fully engaged in the classroom and in the HPU and local community.  Finding a niche at HPU is a joint responsibility between you, your peers and the University.

College students share similar goals of meeting new people and finding ways to get involved. The Center for Student Life & First-Year Programs supports these goals by offering fun, entertaining, educational, and innovated programs and activities. Some of the events you can look forward to this year include Cooking Demonstrations, Club Carnival, Da Freakshow, Final Fiesta, Halloween Hoopla, Movie on the Mall, Music on the Mall, and Welcome Week.

Students4Sea Warrior Center

The Sea Warrior Center is located on the first floor of the Blaisdell Hotel on the downtown campus and is a comfortable gathering spae for the HPU community. You will find pool, ping pong, and foosball tables, a big screen television, and couches to enjoy with your friends. Many events happen in the Sea Warrior Center weekly. Open Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 7:00pm during the fall and spring semesters.

SGALeadership at HPU

Students have the opportunity to experience leadership by getting involved in undergraduate student government, clubs, and as Orientation Leaders during New Student Orientation.

Student Government The Hawai`i Pacific University Student Government Association is the student governing body comprised of a student senate, campus activities board, and judicial council. 

Registered Student Organizations There are over 55 clubs and organizations that give students an opportunity to contribute to campus life at Hawai‘i Pacific University.  These Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) provide a wide range of social, academic, recreational, and community service activities to encourage student participation. 

 

dancersSpirit Programs at HPU

Hawai'i Pacific University offers a variety of spirit opportunities for engagement in the University community. 

Cheer Program HPU has a national champion Cheer Team comprised of male and female athletes highly skilled in gymnastics and partner stunting. 

Dance Team The Dance Team are six-time National Dance Alliance Division II National Champions (2004, 2006-2010). The team includes talented individuals with impeccable technique. 

Sharky the Sea Warrior In the fall of 2003, HPU introduced our mascot Sharky the Sea Warrior. Sharky has increased school spirit and can be seen interacting with fans at HPU’s women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s basketball games.  

spiritclubSpirit Club Spirit Club is comprised of energetic, motivated students who are responsible for promoting HPU athletic teams and supporting University activities.   

Eligibility requirements for the above dance, cheer, and mascot programs include auditions and that you are a new, first-time incoming undergraduate student to HPU.
