Spring 2012 Elections

Elections for the 2012-2013 will be held Monday, April 9 through Friday, April 13, 2012. Elections will be held online through HPU Pipeline.

To run for a position, complete an election packet and submit it before 5 pm on Friday, March 23.

Election packets are available at the SGA Office in Sharky's Cove, the Center for Student Life and First-Year Programs (MP 105, 1188 Fort Street Mall) and online.

  • Downtown Campus Senator
  • Hawai'i Loa Campus Senator
  • Military Campus Senator
  • Graduate Senator
  • Business Administration Senator (2 positions available)
  • Humanities and Social Sciences Senator(2 positions available)
  • Natural and Computational SciencesSenator (2 positions available)
  • Nursing and Health Sciences Senator (2 positions available)
  • Campus Activities Board Chair
  • Downtown Members of the CAB (3 positions available)
  • Hawai'i Loa Members of the CAB (3 positions available)

Applications are due by 5 pm on Friday, March 23 to Director of Elections Rachel O'Hara or SGA Advisor Megan Kaptik, at the Center for Student Life and First-YearPrograms (MP 105).

Student Judicial Council Appointments

Are you a student interested in law? The Student Judicial Council (SJC) is the judicial branch of the SGA that resolves electoral and constitutional disputes.

Election Concerns

Please contact the Student Judicial Council (SJC) if you wish to file a complaint regarding a candidate, process, or occurrence.

A person who wishes to file the complaint should file a petition with Ryan Tinajero, Chief Justice of the SJC.  To file a petition email rtinajer@my.hpu.edu, notifying the SJC that you would like to start the complaint process.  For example, "I hereby petition to challenge ..."

Once the petition is filed, the SJC decides whether to dismiss the case or allow it to continue with a complaint form.
