Dance Team 2011-2012

The motto of the Hawai'i Pacific University dance team is: Kupono, Kulike, Kupa'a, E Ku Makou (Stand in righteousness, strike as one, with determination, we have arrived!)

The Hawai'i Pacific University dance team has been crowned a National Champion team numerous times earning first place at the NDA National Dance Competition in both Hip Hop and Dance Division II categories in 2010 and Dance Division II in 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, and 2004. The HPU Dance Team entertains Sea Warrior fans at all home volleyball and basketball games, as well as, numerous university, charity, and community events island-wide. The HPU Dance Team allows students with technical dance training to continue their passion for dance and contribute to fostering school spirit while pursuing their academic goals. Many dance team graduates have gone on to work professionally in the dance industry. This year's team is comprised of 16 talented dancers from all across the United States and Oahu.  There are 5 first-year members and 11 veteran members.  The team practices three times a week during which they learn various material for performances, practice dance technique, and rehearse for the competition season.

The secret to their success?  Ohana - the Hawaiian word for family. The HPU dancers stand together as one. One Heart, One Love
