OUR MISSION STATEMENT
TIMSO sponsors and conducts activities and events that serve to benefit the community while enhancing the learning experiences of the students. These co-curricular career-related activities provide an interesting extension hoping to broaden the students' overall career perspectives. TIMSO provides HPU students with the opportunity to connect and network with the tourism industry, which gives them “real life” experience and career opportunities. TIMSO activities are educational, community service oriented, as well as recreational.
TIMSO wants to continue its efforts to offer current and future students the possibility to be a part of our learning environment, in which they can learn and grow. Furthermore, TIMSO would like to continue to provide the students with the opportunity to get experiences and connections with the travel industry and its professionals that might benefit them in their future careers. Having our students engaged in the travel industry here in Hawaii and in other destinations will also reflect back on the HPU community, as one that provides its students with the tools necessary to enter the work environment and provides them with opportunities to do so. Such a diverse community creates a global network that all community members can benefit from, even after graduation.Category: Academic/Professional Applicable to the following student interests: Travel industry management, hospitality management, tourism, careers in travel industry management.
