Library Instruction
Instruction in basic library skills and presentations on more sophisticated search strategies are provided by reference librarians. Sessions are conducted in either the classroom or in either University Libraries upon request and scheduling. Instruction is tailored to the specific content and level of a course. If you would like to schedule a class, you may do so by submitting the Library Instruction Request Form.
Library-Related Assignments
It is recommended and very much appreciated that when faculty plan a library-related assignment they notify the libraries' Reference Services Unit before the assignment is given to students.
A copy of any library-related assignment is requested, which will aid reference librarians in assisting students. Sufficient lead-time will assist librarians in securing available and appropriate materials, as necessary.
Electronic Resources
The University Libraries has paid subscriptions (with accompanying license agreements) to a variety of electronic resources. Access to these online research databases is restricted to HPU students, faculty and staff. Login to HPU Pipeline, select the Libraries tab, then click on Databases.
The Library Catalog and the library's Periodicals List are also accessible through HPU Pipeline.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) & Document Delivery Services
Full-time faculty can make use of ILL services for materials that are unavailable in our libraries' collections. All ILL fees up to $500 per fiscal year will be subsidized by the University Libraries. Click here for more ILL information.

Research Guides
The University Libraries' Research Guides, developed by our reference librarians, assist students with their research. The types of guides available include listings of information sources in the University Libraries on a particular topic, instructions on how to use particular reference sources, helpful search strategies for specific topics, as well as traditional bibliographies.
