Loan Service

Faculty may borrow periodicals from the University libraries collection for a period of up to four hours during the day and/or overnight.

All periodical loans to faculty must be made in person, with a Periodical Loan Card completed for each issue borrowed.

Faculty may borrow a maximum of three issues at one time.

Faculty must leave a valid HPU Faculty and Staff UniCard at the service desk of the library where the checkout is initiated. The UniCard will be held for the duration of the loan period.

Periodicals that are on "Reserve" status, are in the "Closed Shelves" collection, or are bound volumes of the Beach Press will not be loaned.

University Libraries Periodicals List

The University Libraries Periodical List is a holdings list of print, microform, and electronic titles subscribed to by the libraries, available online via the Libraries' tab page in Campus Pipeline.

Photocopying Services

Self-service photocopy machines are available at Atherton Library and on Floors 2, 3, and 5 of Meader Library. Machines on Meader Library's Floors 2 and 3 are for general photocopying purposes. Machines on Floor 5 are for photocopying of periodical articles and general photocopying purposes. Only 8 1/2" x 11" and 8 1/2" x 14" copies can be made.

Suggesting Periodical Titles for the Collection

Please complete the Library Materials Recommendation Form. Forward your request to the appropriate librarian subject specialist.

Bibliographic Verification Assistance

The periodical services unit will verify and provide the appropriate identification information, the publisher's address, and the subscription rate for faculty wishing to suggest the addition of a periodical title to the collection.
