Periodicals at the Libraries:
Periodicals (magazines, journals, newspapers) are available in print, microfiche and microfilm (microform), and electronic formats. Print periodicals are shelved alphabetically by title in open stacks at both Atherton and Meader Libraries. Microform periodicals are located in microform cabinets near the microform reader-printers in both libraries. Access to our subscribed periodicals online is available through HPU Pipeline via the Libraries' tab -- look for the Periodicals List link in the left-hand column. Are now available on Floor 5 of Meader Library on the downtown campus and at the Educational Technology Center (ETC) on the Hawaii Loa campus. AV materials previously located at the Learning Assistance Center, or LAC, are now located on Floor 5 of Meader Library.On Reserve:
High-use periodicals are sometimes placed on RESERVE. Periodicals on RESERVE may be obtained at the service desks in Atherton Library and Meader Library, 5th floor. Users must present valid identification to use RESERVE periodicals; valid forms of ID include:- HPU student ID card
- HPU Faculty or Staff ID card
- HPU Libraries Community Card
- Driver's License, Hawaii State I.D., or other I.D. with a photo.
Cataloged:
Some periodicals, used for reference, are found in the appropriate collection as indicated by the call number. Cataloged periodicals are listed in the Library Catalog.Periodicals List:
The University Libraries' Periodicals List is an alphabetical holdings list of print, microform, and electronic titles subscribed to by the University libraries. It is available in print at both libraries and online via the Libraries tab in HPU Pipeline.Photocopying:
Self-service photocopy machines are available at Atherton Library and on Floors 2, 3, and 5 of Meader Library. Machines on Meader Library's Floors 2 and 3 are for general photocopying purposes. Machines on Floor 5 are for photocopying of periodical articles and general photocopying purposes. Only 8 1/2" x 11" and 8 1/2" x 14" copies can be made.Use of Periodicals:
PLEASE NOTE: Periodicals are library use only. Please do not remove periodicals from the floors on which they are located.
