I transferred to HPU in Fall 2008. Back then, I saw HPU flyers on the wall of my college. HPU sounded appealing to me, so I did some additional research on International Student Scholarships offered at HPU:I was choosing carefully, as I wanted an institution with great academics.

Transfer Services for International Students

College and university-level courses completed at accredited institutions both inside and outside of the U.S. may qualify you to receive transfer credit (advanced standing) at HPU. Your previous coursework is evaluated on a case-by-case basis according to the following guidelines:

  • The college or university you attended must be regionally accredited,

  • Coursework must be academic in nature (HPU does not award transfer credit for vocational or work-related training),

  • Transfer credit can only be awarded for courses completed with the equivalent U.S. grade of C- or better (e.g. Pass/Fail courses and ECTS grades of “E” or lower cannot be transferred)

Required Documentation

In order to have international coursework evaluated for transfer credit at HPU, you must submit the following:

  1. Transcripts:  Official transcripts must be mailed directly to HPU from the international institution you attended (note: faxes, e-mail attachments, transcripts on school websites, unofficial copies, and 3rd party evaluations cannot be accepted for admission to HPU),

  2. Course descriptions:  Official course descriptions for all courses you wish to have evaluated for possible transfer credit must be sent directly to HPU from your previous international institution,

  3. English-language translations:  If your official transcripts and course descriptions are not originally issued in English by your previous institution, you are required to have these documents certified and professionally translated into English.

Preliminary Evaluations

If you are considering transferring to HPU and would like to have your international coursework evaluated, please email the following information to us (allow up to 3-4 weeks for your unofficial evaluation to be completed):

  • A copy of your official transcript(s) and course descriptions (professionally translated into English)

  • Your intended major at HPU

  • The academic term you would like to begin your studies
