Honor Societies

Sigma Tau Delta International Honor Society

Purpose: To give distinction for high achievement in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies in English language and literature; to encourage creative and critical writing.

This national honor society recognizes and promotes academic excellence of students who plan to major in English, or minor in Writing, Film Studies, or English.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be in your third semester or higher of college study.
  • Have taken at least two courses with the alpha WRI and/or ENG, numbered 2000 or above.
  • Have a GPA in those WRI or ENG courses of at least 3.0.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.44.
  • Be planning either to major in English, or to minor in Writing, Film Studies, or English.

Membership fee of $40 to be paid upon notification of acceptance.
