Amanda Bio Headshot

Amanda Jeane Fish (Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a double minor in History, and Diplomacy and Military Studies) has been selected as the undergraduate valedictory speaker for HPU’s 87th commencement ceremony set for Thursday, December 15, at 5 p.m. at the Neal Blaisdell Arena. The valedictory speaker is an outstanding student who is chosen to represent the University's on-campus undergraduate degree programs.

Fish is a native of San Jose, California. She originally came to Hawai’i Pacific University to pursue a degree in Marine Biology, but instead found a passion for global problems and the historical and cultural contexts behind them. In addition to her BA in International Studies, she worked toward a double minor in history, and diplomacy and military studies. Fish’s academic interests include peacebuilding and conflict resolution, as well as regions encompassing former French colonies and Southeast Asia. She has explored other avenues at HPU outside of her academic discipline by working at the Paul and Vi Loo Theatre, working in the Student Life office, and actively participating in Wanderlust, HPU’s literary magazine. She studied abroad in Paris, France, in the fall of 2015, and her post-undergraduate plans include studying abroad again in Seoul, South Korea.

The ceremony will be webcast live. For more information, see www.hpu.edu/Graduation.
