HPU Ranked Among Top 50 Computer Science Degrees for International Students

College Values Online has ranked Hawai‘i Pacific University among its top 50 computer science degrees for international students

Honolulu, Hawaii — Hawai‘i Pacific University has been ranked among the 2016 top 50 computer science degrees for international students by College Values Online.

Hawai‘i Pacific University was ranked 47th.

HPU prides itself on maintaining strong academic programs, small class sizes, individual attention to students, and a diverse faculty and student population.

The computer science major offered by HPU meets the high standards of model programs proposed by the professional organizations Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest professional association for the advancement of technology. Courses include discrete math for computer science, assembly language and computer systems programming, algorithms, systems analysis, data communication, operating systems, and software engineering. The curriculum is designed to provide students with excellent preparation for high-demand jobs in the growing field of computer science, or for further graduate studies. This ranking was created using data from the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator and Payscale. The top 50 computer science degrees for international students were selected and ranked based on the following factors: percentage of student population comprised of international students; tuition; average 20-year net return on investment; and distinguishing characteristics about the university's computer science program.
