Two New Members Appointed to HPU's Board of Trustees

Hawai‘i Pacific University’s Board of Trustees approved the addition of two new board members, effective April 29, 2011.
Joachim P. Cox is a partner at the Honolulu law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, LLP. Cox represents clients in commercial and business disputes, including class action defense, products liability, and environmental and personal injury litigation. He formerly served as defense counsel in the United States Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps and was a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Hawai‘i.
Fred P. “Gus” Gustavson is a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral. Gustavson served for more than 30 years in the Navy and was a submarine commander and senior instructor. He was responsible for the operations of 13 nuclear submarines, two repair ships, two dry docks and a shore support facility.
Hawai‘i Pacific University is the state’s largest private university with more than 8,500 students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries. HPU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, the Council on Social Work Education, and the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
