Meet Dr. Peter Britos
Professor of Multimedia and Communication

Dr. Peter Britos holds M.F.A in Screenwriting and a PhD in Critical Studies from the School of Cinematic Arts at the University of Southern California.  His passion for the fine arts has serves as the perfect background for his courses in media studies, media criticism, and global media studies.  Dr. Britos’ professional career includes work at CBS Television City, and he was the recipient of the 2009 FINE Fellowship in Panoramic Photography awarded by Carnegie Mellon University. 

In the classroom, he encourages students to put their knowledge into play using storytelling.  Dr. Britos also has students focus on the international perspective of his classroom as he takes advantage of HPU’s diverse student body.

Away from the camera and the classroom, Dr. Britos shines as a world-class athlete.  Ranked as a professional player on the International Racquet Ball Circuit, Dr. Britos enjoys a fast paced lifestyle.  His athleticism has also extended from a professional career to coaching and mentoring, in not only Racquet Ball but in tennis, golf and basketball.  Dr. Britos is also the co-founder of the Black Sand World Racquetball Championships held on Waikiki beach.
