New Student Orientation

Passport Week Events

A variety of optional social event are available during Passport Week.  Students and family members may register for these events individually online after registering for New Student Orientation.  Details will be provided in the Orientation confirmation email.

Transportation for all events is included, departing from and returning to the Downtown Shuttle Stop, Hawai'i Loa Shuttle Stop, and Ohana Student Suites in Waikiki.

Shot of Reality

See Mission IMPROVable, a Campus Activities Magazine's Comedy Act of the Year! A Shot of Reality is a traveling comedy show that alternates between hilarious improvisations, audience participation, and sketches that educate. Mission IMPROVable has performed at thousands of colleges across the country over the last twelve years. Their short form comedy show has been nominated for dozens of awards and performed everywhere from Lollapalooza to colleges and universities in nearly every state in the country.

Cosmic Bowling

Bring your socks and get ready for an out-of-this-world cosmic bowling experience with your new friends. Due to a limited number of lanes, this event is limited to HPU students only.

Pearl Harbor and Honolulu City Tour

Friday, August 30, 7:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Audience: Parents & Family Members
Cost = $20.00/person

Join your Parent Relations Coordinator on a tour of Honolulu and Pearl Harbor. This tour begins with a visit to the USS Arizona Memorial commemorating the victims of the 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The journey includes a visit to National Cemetery of the Pacific and a narrated tour of downtown Honolulu, including 'Iolani Palace, the State Capitol, KingKamehameha Statue, Kawaiaha'o Church, and the Mission Houses.
NOTE: This event is for parents and family members only. Siblings welcome, but not HPU students.

Ali'i Kai Catamaran Sunset Cruise

See a rainbow of sailboats, the lights of Waikiki, a majestic view of Diamond Head and a spectacular Hawaiian sunset from aboard the world's largest Polynesian catamaran. Enjoy a Polynesian show, buffet dinner,and dancing to a live band.

Manoa Falls Scenic Hike

This easy and popular hike starts by crossing a foot bridge,then travels through a grove of Eucalyptus trees. The 3/4-mile long trail gradually ascends through a lush rainforest ending at the base of Manoa Falls, which cascade 150 feet down a vertical face into a crystal clear pool.

Circle Island Tour

This tour is ideal for first-time visitors, but regulars love it, too. Enjoy and learn about history, culture, and legends of O'ahu, "The Gathering Place". Sites include Hanauma Bay, Halona "Blow Hole" Lookout, Kualoa Ranch, Makapu'u, Nu'uanu Pali Lookout, and many others.
