Meeting with a career counselor has helped a lot. She also helped me to prepare for an upcoming Health & Social Services Career Fair.

Career Events for Students

The Career Services Center hosts a variety of events throughout the year to bring career opportunities and learning experiences to HPU students and alumni. All of our events are posted on our Career Events Calendar below and announced via Pipeline emails.



Career Fairs

The Career Services Center hosts two major Career Fairs each year. These events are open to all HPU students & alumni. Career Fairs are excellent opportunities to network with employers, learn more about future career paths and find full-time, part-time and internship opportunities.

btFall 2012 – Health, Science & Social Services Career Fair
Date: Wednesday, October 24, 2012
Location: Hawaii Loa Campus, Academic Center Lanai

Spring 2013 - Business & Technology Career Fair
Date: March 2013 (Date TBA)
Location: FH Building – Lobby Level (1132 Bishop Street)

West Coast Law Schools Fair
We also host the West Coast Law Consortium which brings over 20 admissions representatives form law schools in the Western region.

Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Location: Fort Street Mall

Information Sessions

isInformation sessions allow students and alumni to meet with employers and recruiters to learn about career opportunities. These are excellent opportunities to make contact with potential employers. Companies also may also have information tables on Fort St. Mall or Hawaii Loa Campus to distribute recruiting information and speak to students.

Backpack to Briefcase is our annual workshop series held in the Spring semester to help graduating students make the transition from student to professional.

pdProfessional Development Events

The Career Services Center regularly partners with academic departments to host Professional Development Events. These evening events feature Alumni guest speakers and career information specific to a particular degree or area. The goal of this program is to help students take proactive steps to move forward in their career while they are still in school. Students and alumni can learn about job opportunities in their chosen field and network with HPU Alumni who are working professionals in their field. Recent professional development events have been held for Information Systems (MSIS) and International Studies programs.
