Certificate in Gerontology
The Certificate in Gerontology provides an opportunity for students in various programs to learn about a complementary field of study. Students enrolled in programs such as social work, journalism, social sciences, and business may find a concentration in gerontology to be an advantage in the workplace. The certificate includes an internship course, giving the student field experience in gerontology.
Students must complete four upper division Health Science courses beyond HS 1000:
HS 3060 Global Aging
HS 3070 Gerontology Theory and Practice
HS 4010 Social Gerontology in Health Science
REL 3007 On Death and Dying
HS 4900 Health Science Internship
