Sigma Tau Delta: English Honor Society

Purpose: To give distinction for high achievement in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies in English language and literature; to encourage creative and critical writing.

This national honor society recognizes and promotes academic excellence of students who plan to major in English, or minor in Writing, Film Studies, or English.

Eligible candidates must:

  • Be in your third semester or higher of college study.
  • Have taken at least two courses with the alpha WRI, LIT, and/or ENG, numbered 2000 or above.
  • Have a GPA in those WRI, LIT, or ENG courses of at least 3.0.
  • Have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.44 (this places you in the top third of all HPU students).
  • Be planning either to major in English, or to minor in Writing, Film Studies, or English.

Membership fee of $37 to be paid upon notification of acceptance.

Regalia: Cardinal(Red) and Black Cords (can be purchased at an additional cost of $9)
