Ms. Smith teaches classes in media strategy, advertising, public relations, and business communication.

Smith recently joined the College of Communication faculty after working in the public sector as the Vice President of a local consulting firm, where she collaborated directly with executives in the field.  Smith also worked for six years at the Hawaii State Capitol as the Communications Specialist for a State Representative and the Chief-of-Staff for a Hawaii State Senator.  She also acted as the campaign manager and public relations advisor for a candidate in a United States congressional race here in Hawaii.  In addition to her public relations and business experience, Smith also has extensive experience in radio and media sales. Instructor Smith was the news director for six radio stations on Maui and was a weekly writer for the Maui Times.
