The philosophy minor offers students an opportunity to learn about value theory, social/political philosophy, and the history of philosophy. In general, the Minor promotes three core values of a liberal education: critical thinking, global citizenship, and narrative imagination. Students are exposed to theories addressing ethical and aesthetic values, research and epistemology, and systematic/discursive forms of thinking and reasoning. The minor will enrich and broaden students’ understanding of diverse philosophical perspectives, and provides a suitable complement to majors in the social sciences and business.
