Eli K. M. Foster, playing Tevye in Fiddler on the RoofFiddler on the Roof

Directed by Joyce Maltby
Musical Direction by Richard Bragdon
Choreography by Brad Powell
November 7 – November 30, 2014

Set in the little village of Anatevka, the story centers on Tevye, a poor dairyman, and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, Tevye tries to protect his daughters and instill them with tradition in the face of changing mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, “Fiddler’s” universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.

This Production of Fiddler on the Roof is made possible through a donation fromThe Glenn Cannon Foundation.
“The Glenn Cannon Foundation was established to preserve Glenn's memory and to carry on his passion for the performing arts by providing support to educational and community theatre.  It was my privilege to provide the fund for this production of "Fiddler on the Roof" directed by Joyce Maltby. Through all these years Glenn appreciated Joyce Maltby's work and always marveled at her talent, skill and especially her profound devotion for theatre. I strongly believe Glenn's love for the theatre does not end with his death. It continues through fellow artists and theatre lovers.—Samsil Cannon
