COB Student Wins

COB Student Wins in World Cup Skateboarding Competition

Jordan Serpentini (BSBA Intl Business) took 2nd place in the La Sosh Freestyle World Cup Skateboarding Competition in Marseille, France.  Due to her passion for skateboarding, she wants to establish a not-for-profit organization to show young girls how to skateboard.  She made a presentation of her business plan to the North Shore business community which is now being considered for use.

There was an article posted on Monday, November 9, 2015 in HPU spotlight on Dr. Harm-Jan Steenhuis.The article emphasizes that Steenhuis has much to offer international business students. His global research and business experiences include developing an export plan for an Indian company producing transformers; studying the transfer of production technology to an aircraft manufacturing company in Romania; and looking at innovation and commercialization of carbon dioxide as an environmentally friendly replacement for water in manufacturing processes at a Science and Technology Center sponsored by the National Science Foundation.

Program recognizes academic achievement and social innovations that benefit Hawaii

Honolulu, Hawaii – Ten Hawaii high school seniors will receive four-year full-tuition merit scholarships at Hawaii Pacific University as winners of the HPUbiz4good Scholarship Challenge.   The new program, developed and hosted by the College of Business, rewarded students for their academic achievements and the development of original ideas designed to positively impact Hawaii.

The challenge began with students posting their ideas on social media, followed by participation at workshops led by HPU faculty, staff, students, local entrepreneurs and social innovation experts, held at HPU’s Aloha Tower Marketplace (ATM) campus.   The final competition on February 18th included a set of finalists who produced “pitch” videos, a project proposal, and visual displays of their proposed projects.

            The HPUbiz4good scholarship winners and future leaders of Hawaii are:
