Cathrine Linnes, Ph.D., was elected as president-elect of the Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE) Executive Board at their annual executive board meeting in Quebec City, Canada, Sept. 27. Her term begins in 2018. UPE is an international honor society for the computing and information disciplines. Linnes, who founded and has served as faculty advisor to the HPU chapter of UPE since 2007, was elected to the UPE Executive Board in April 2014.

 Organizational Management

Assistant Professor of Organizational Management Lindsey A. Gibson, Ph.D., is scheduled to present at the 7th International Annual Mentoring Conference at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, Oct. 21-24. Her paper "Why are there so many horror stories? Power and ethics in academia” investigates claims of negative mentoring relationships between faculty and graduate students across many disciplines. Solutions to improve these working relationships is explored.
