Business Faculty Publish Research on the Impact of Social Media on the Hotel Industry

Cathrine Linnes, Ph.D., Wendy Lam, Ph.D., and Jerry Agrusa, Ph.D., with co-authors published  “Social Media and Technology: The Influence on Hawaii’s Hotels” in The Consortium: Journal of Hospitality and Tourism. The group’s research focuses on TripAdvisor due to its dominant market position within the travel industry market.

Inspired by HPU Courses and Professors: Alumni in National Geographic Grant Finals 

HPU Faculty Ken Schoolland, M.S.F.S, associate professor of economics  Angela Costanzo, Ph.D., and Regina Ostergaard-Klem, Ph.D., are recognized by Emily MacNintch (BA Environmental Studies ’14) and Nicholas Holvik (BSBA Economics ’14). Emily and Nick attribute the inspiration for the creation of their innovative humanitarian project to HPU experiences and connections and shared this with President Bannister who posts in his blog about it here. HPU ‘ohana, please continue supporting Emily and Nick and vote daily until Sept. 29! Their project could win the $50,000 grant. Check them out on Facebook.
