Academic Calendar
Hawai`i Pacific University's academic year consists of the main terms of fall and spring, a winter session, and four summer sessions providing a student with the opportunity to take courses year round.
- Fall semester begins in early September (usually the day after Labor Day), and consists of 15 weeks of classes, including a week for final examinations.
- Spring semester begins in mid-January and consists of 15 weeks of classes (with a one-week spring recess after about nine weeks), including a week for final examinations.
- Winter session runs for approximately five weeks between the fall and the spring semesters, usually from mid-December to mid-January.
- Three summer sessions from about mid-May until mid September are held.
Four major Military Campus programs terms of ten weeks each and three two week terms are available to U.S. military personnel, U.S. DOD personnel and their dependents through the University's Military Campus Programs. The terms, offered on military installations on the island of Oahu, follow a different academic calendar.
