In compliance with the "Timely Notice" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998, Campus Security is giving notice of a suspicious circumstance in the area of the LB Building, 1060 Bishop Street.
REPORTED OFFENSE: On 5-2-14 at 12:21 p.m., a male, possibly Caucasian, was seen talking to two HPU female students near the entrance of the LB Building. The Caucasian male asked the students if they were interested in doing some translation in either Korean or Japanese. The two students declined and entered the LB Building of HPU. It appears the male is targeting Asian female students. The male has been recently in the area and LB Security has noted him to approach other Asian female students in the past. The male is identified as possibly a Caucasian male, early 30s, fair complexion, with a light goatee, wearing a long sleeve white business shirt, dark slacks and black shoes, 5’10” to 6’0 in height and approximately 180 lbs.
LB Security and HPU Security have a picture of the male and will report to the Honolulu Police Department if seen again in the area.
Be cognizant of your surroundings and if anything suspicious, please report to HPU security or the Honolulu Police Department.
Please pass this information on to others in the HPU community who might not be aware of this incident.
